Named for Honore De Balzac : novelist and playwright
Is reimagined from the pittion archives : construction the same as the 1950’s frame but substituting titanium for material-covered monel.
Strawberry shaped lenses with rounded top brow that has articulated cut-outs on the inside before dropping to a flat bowed nose bridge and the outside that dip into somewhat rounded connections located at the line of the bottom of the nose bridge.
There is a protruding bar that locks the closure on the connection when opened.
The temples start out with the locking bar and fold back then taper out into a 4-sided / multi-pressed and trimmed shape. at the back of this shape is a core wire welded and an acetate “modan” temple piece slides on and is screwed in place from the backside with a custom “map screw”.
The shape at the front is slightly rounded but tapers to a slended bow and is completed at the end with a squared off tip.
An elegant but sharp naughty frame overall.
The frames overall appearance is strong but at the same time somewhat precious and delicate.
